略吟slight vibrato

Pinyin: lüè yín

Vibrato and glides

Shorter than shao yin: a single light touch of yin, about “half of a half yin”.

How it is played

After the note, make only the briefest flicker of yin, almost in passing; otherwise as for yin.

How it sounds

A mere thread of tremor in the ring, barely there.

In the classical handbooks

如半吟之半也。亦如前說。

Gist: Like half of a half yin. Otherwise as above.
